Announcing the Experiment News and Views section
Assalamu `alaykum,
In a recent MAS
Youth Exec meeting we discussed the need for a place where news from around the
world is filtered and relevant articles (be they news of perspective) are
posted.
I would like to announce the experimental “News and Views” section of the
http://masnj.org. There, important news from
around the world and perspective will be posted regularly inshaa Allah. This section is still experimental, its name and function are may change.
You can visit the
blog at http://masnj.org/site/groups/news-and-views.
If you use an RSS reader, you can subscribe to it at http://masnj.org/site/groups/news-and-views/feed.
Please feel free to
post comments on the articles. You can comment on the whole concept by posting a comment to this article.

What ideas do you have for a new Halaqa?
I've been thinking about my Halaqa for a while. I have a group of youth, and I want to keep them interested. Does anyone have good ideas for keeping the Halaqa interesting?

MAS New Jersey Website Upgraded
Assalamu `alaykum,
We have updated the MAS-NJ website from Drupal version 6.6 to 6.7. This fixes a security problem and is more stable.
I think we are ready to start using the website officially, what do you think?

A few things to do
Assalamu `alaykum,
Please help us test the site and give us feedback. A special thanks to Dr. Safaa and Anas for being the most active testers on the site. Here are a few things to do:
- Go to your account, and fill your introduction (ta`aruf), and other information. It's a good way to get to know each other.
- Upload a picture for yourself. For those who wish to upload a picture of their children, or of themselves sleeping, we'll create a picture area inshaa'allah, but it's nice to have a clear identification picture if at all possible.
- Please get familiar with the site. We want to test membership payments, event registration and donations next. Let's get this phase of testing done as soon as possibe.
- Send me all feedback you think is useful. Create posts, comment on posts...

Look what's new!
Assalamu `alaykum,
Our favorite site keeps on getting better. I think we may be ready to start using the site normally. Here are the latest changes:
- Group members now receive Email notifications! Isn'nt that fantabulous?
- Users receive HTML Email
- The Navigation menu (on the left) is now a dynamic menu that opens and closes without refreshing the page
- There is now a top menu with the most essential links
- When users sign up, there were duplicate first name and last name fields, I removed the duplicates
- I added a contact phone number, gender and an introductory paragraph
- I rearranged the menus to be more logical
- You can turn off the Email notification

Alright site testers, it's time we start getting serious. I'd like people to try and give feedback on the following:
New Editor
Assalamu `alaykum,
I installed and configured a new editor. This one should be easier to use than what we had before. This solves the problem that was causing some pages to freeze.
